Plans & Upgrading

Pageant Pass comes in two plans: a free plan called Core and a paid plan called Plus. Both plans are billed per Title, not per account — if you own more than one Title, each one has its own plan, price, and billing status. This page explains what each plan includes, how new Directors can claim a free trial of Plus, and how to upgrade or downgrade a Title's plan from the My Titles page. Both roles can read this page, but plan choices mostly apply to Directors.

The Two Plans

Core is free and included automatically for every Title. It covers creating and managing competitions, reviewing applicants, recording results, and exporting paperwork.

Plus costs $99 per year, per Title and adds four features on top of everything in Core, for every competition built under that Title:

  • Online payments — collect entry fees online through Square.
  • Compliance tracking — track fees, registration, and donations, and share secure links with trusted helpers.
  • The judge's book script builder — build the run-of-show script for your judge's book.
  • The interview planner — build an interview schedule for judging day.

⭐ Plus feature — Online payments, compliance tracking, the judge's book script builder, and the interview planner are all available on the Plus plan.

Upgrading one Title to Plus has no effect on your other Titles. See Titles for how Title ownership and billing work.

Claim Your Free Trial

New Directors can try Plus free for six months. The trial is a one-time perk per Director account, not per Title — once you've used it (on any one of your Titles), upgrading another Title goes straight to a paid invoice.

  1. Open My Titles from the menu.
  2. Click the Title you want to upgrade to open it for editing.
  3. Click Upgrade to Plus.
  4. Review the features and pricing. If you're still eligible for the trial, the confirmation lets you know an upgrade may start your free trial.
  5. Confirm the upgrade.

The trial needs no credit card and you won't be charged. Pageant Pass reminds you before the trial ends. When it does, the Title returns to Core unless you choose to subscribe.

Upgrade to Plus

When you're ready to move a Title from Core to Plus, you upgrade it from My Titles.

  1. Open My Titles from the menu.
  2. Click the Title you want to upgrade to open it for editing.
  3. Click Upgrade to Plus and review the Plus features and the $99/year price.
  4. Confirm the upgrade.

If you're not on a trial, an invoice for $99/year is emailed to you. The Title upgrades to Plus automatically once payment is received.

Downgrade to Core

If a Title no longer needs Plus, you can return it to the free Core plan.

  1. Open My Titles from the menu.
  2. Click the Title you want to downgrade to open it for editing.
  3. Click Downgrade to Core and confirm.

The Title keeps its Plus features until its current paid period ends — nothing is switched off early. Automatic renewal is turned off, so when the period ends that Title moves to Core. Your other Titles are unaffected.

Plan Messages You Might See

Each Title's editor shows its current subscription status. Here's what each one means:

  • Free Trial — This Title is in its six-month free trial of Plus. The editor shows the date it ends.
  • Pending Payment — An invoice has been emailed and payment is pending. The Title upgrades automatically once payment arrives. Check your email for instructions.
  • Canceling (Access Until Expiration) — A downgrade is scheduled. The Title keeps Plus access until the date shown, then returns to Core.
  • Payment Failed — A payment didn't go through for this Title. Contact support to resolve it.
  • Active — The Title is on a paid Plus subscription in good standing.
