Titles
A Title is the billed, owned entity behind your competitions — think of it as your program or franchise (for example, "Miss Springfield"). You manage your Titles from the My Titles page, and every competition you create is built under exactly one Title. This page explains what a Title is, how ownership and billing work, and how to create and manage one. If you haven't created your first Title yet, you'll be walked through it as part of Director Getting Started.
A Title is not the same thing as a dual title or title classification — those describe the award a contestant competes for at a single event. See the Glossary for the distinction.
What Is a Title?
A Title is your billed franchise entity. Each competition you build links to exactly one Title, and that Title's Core or Plus plan determines what features are available on every competition built under it.
A Director can own more than one Title — for example, if you run programs in more than one pageant system, or more than one distinct local program. Each Title is billed independently, so you can hold one Title on Core and another on Plus at the same time.
Ownership
Each Title has one owner: the Director who created it, and that Director is the sole billing authority for that Title — upgrades, downgrades, cancellations, and payment all go through the owner. Co-managing a single Title across more than one Director account is not available yet.
Titles and Pageant Systems
A Title belongs to exactly one pageant system (for example, Miss America or Royal American Miss), assigned automatically from the site you're on when you create it — this isn't something you choose yourself, and it can't be changed afterward. Every competition built under a Title belongs to that same system.
If you own Titles in more than one system, the My Titles list shows all of them together. Starting a new competition for a Title takes you to that Title's own site if it's different from the one you're currently on, so you're always building the competition in the right place.
Creating a Title
- Open My Titles from the menu.
- Click Create New Title.
- In the panel that slides in, enter a Title Name (for example, "Miss Example City").
- Click Create Title.
Your first Title is also created for you automatically as part of the onboarding steps the first time you sign in as a Director — see Director Getting Started.
Editing a Title
- Open My Titles from the menu.
- Click a Title in the list to open it for editing.
- Update the Title Name and click Update Title.
Billing: Core and Plus, Per Title
Each Title carries its own subscription, separate from every other Title you own:
- Core is free and included automatically for every Title.
- Plus costs $99 per year, per Title and unlocks online payments, compliance tracking, the judge's book script builder, and the interview planner for every competition built under that Title.
Upgrading one Title to Plus does not affect your other Titles — each one is billed and managed on its own.
Upgrade to Plus
- Open My Titles from the menu and click the Title you want to upgrade.
- Click Upgrade to Plus in the panel that slides in.
- Review the Plus features, then confirm. If you're eligible for the free trial, you'll be offered it here instead of a paid upgrade.
- If you're not on a trial, an invoice is emailed to you; the Title moves to Plus once payment is received.
Downgrade to Core
- Open My Titles from the menu and click the Title you want to downgrade.
- Click Downgrade to Core and confirm.
- The Title keeps its Plus features until the end of its current billing period, then moves to Core automatically.
The Free Trial Is Per Account, Not Per Title
The six-month free trial of Plus is a one-time perk for your Director account, not something you get fresh on every Title. If you've already used your trial (on this Title or a previous one), upgrading another Title goes straight to a paid invoice. See Plans & Upgrading for how the trial works.
One Competition Per Title, Per Year
A Title can have at most one competition per calendar year. This keeps a single paid Title from being used to quietly run more than one program at once. If you need to run more than one distinct program in the same year, each one needs its own Title.
